Barnyard Mural

As it stands today, our gym is fairly plain when compared to gyms at other schools.  With only our championship banners on the walls (when they haven’t fallen off) our gym is rather undecorated.  Our leadership class plans to change this with Cassie Owens as the head of the project. 

In an interview with Cassie, she said that she got the idea when visiting another school.  The gym was decorated with murals containing the school colors and name and this inspired her to look into painting a mural in our gym.  This mural would be above the student section in the gym and would incorporate the word “Barnyard” for school spirit and to serve the practical purpose to indicate where the barnyard section is. 

This mural would be hopefully finished before the end of this year’s basketball season but, if nothing else, by the start of next season.  There is the possibility of the leadership class holding a contest to find the best design for the mural, but nothing is final yet.  If there was a contest, students would be able to enter a design that they create and it would be judged to see which one is the best.  The current thoughts are that the design would be basically the same design as the Barnyard shirts, but the design has not been formally decided on.

The ultimate goal of the mural is to show school spirit in the gym like that of other nearby schools.  If completed, this mural could be a great addition to our gym.
