One And Done
Sections took place on the weekend of 11/5-11/7. It was set up like a tournament and was single elimination. So it was basically play until you lose format. Unfortunately, both teams lost their first games and didn’t even make it to round two of sections.
On 
Friday, November 5th the guys had their first and last game of sections. The boys all left at the very beginning of first period along with some of the girls who went for moral support. The game was against Rio Americano and the final score was 16-2. Those only 2 points were scored by Bryan Poole. When asked about how sections went last year for the team, Casey Aubrey replied, “It was exactly as far as we got last year and our team is way better this year. I just don’t get what happened.” Maybe next year they will advance further into sections.
On Saturday, the girls had their first game in sections. Some of the boys came to the game to support them just as the girls had done the day before. They played Los Bonos and it was a very close game. When the final buzzer rang the score was 7-4, which is exceptionally better then the boys’ score. Just like the boys, this was as far as the girls had gotten last year.
Water polo has finally come to an end. It’s on to other sports for these players and maybe next year will be different.
