AP/Honors Testing

This week, AP and Honors testing will be held for all Dixon High students interested in taking AP or Honors English next year.  Testing will be held at 3:15 this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in C-103.  Students who are taking the test only need to test one of the three days and should be prompt because the test is given out on a first come, first serve basis.

AP and Honors classes have the same curriculum as other classes, but they learn them at a faster rate and are generally more advanced.  These classes also give students a grade bump, meaning if a student gets a B in an AP or Honors class, that student gets the points for an A to go towards their GPA.  In this way, students can exceed a 4.0 GPA or get a 4.0 when they don’t actually have straight A’s.  The grade bump is given because of the classes being more rigorous than the traditional classes here at Dixon High School.
