Mandatory Booster Shots

Out of all things that students at Dixon High School are thinking about at this point in the year, the next school year is probably not very high on the list.  However, there’s an important piece of information all students need to know before next year.  In order to attend this school, all students need proof that they were vaccinated against whooping cough.  This is now required by law and students will not be able to start school until they prove that they got the booster shot.  All students from 7^th grade to 12^th grade must follow this regulation for the 2011-2012 school year only.

The reason for this new law is because whooping cough has caused many students in California to have missed school because they caught this widespread disease.  This law will help to protect students by ensuring that the student populous has taken good precautions to keep from getting sick.
