The Next Apple iPhone?

With the recent release of the iPhone 4 for Verizon, Apple and its customers have already been looking into the release of the next phone from the company. The iPhone has been a very successful product for the last few years. Cell phone carrier AT&T was originally the only network to carry the phone, but things changed last month when Apple’s exclusive contract with AT&T ran out and which allowed AT&T rival, Verizon Wireless,  to also partner itself with Apple and sell the iPhone.

The iPhone 4  intially  had antenna reception problems with its release which gave the phone bad reception  when it was held in a certain way. After a while however, Apple fixed this with free cases given out to those who were experiencing the problem.

Rumors for the upcoming iPhone 5 are spreading like wildfire. Will the phone be completely redesigned with new features? Will they do what they did with the 3GS and make an updated version calling the new phone the iPhone 4GS and not the iPhone 5? Whatever  Apple decides to do with its highly successful product is up to them and perhaps the carriers, but what is true and a given is that people will be waiting anxiously for whatever Apple decides to unveil to the public. It is a given that the iPhone will most likely be released in the summer months as the trend of iPhone releases have been during this time, probably around in late June or early July.

What about an iPhone Nano? There have been rumors circulating that Apples next phone will come as a mini sized one. The Wall Street Journal has claimed that there is an ‘iPhone nano’ and that it might even be on sale later this year but this probably holds very little truth since the New York Times contradicted the Journal’s report later that week with their own article which  quoted an anonymous source who stated that “The size of the device would not vary.”

Ultra fast 4G Internet

Verizon Compatibility

A White Cover

It is a given that the next iPhone will have more  computing memory, a faster processor, and more flash storage. The screen will be bigger, about four inches to compete with the tablet PC industry and will probably be using a dual core processor to run on. The phone’s graphics will get a major boost to the highest quality, 1080p, since the phones system will be much faster. We might even see an HDMI output from the phone to support the addition of the 1080p graphics. The company is also rumored to make the new iPhone a type of credit/debit card, allowing consumers to pay for goods by simply waving the phone towards a terminal. This would then expand the iTunes application to allow people to manage their accounts.

If Apple decides to make its new iPhone an update to the current iPhone 4, then we should expect the price of the 4GS, if that’s what they decide to call it, to stay the same more or less.

Whether these features or just circulating rumors or actually from Apple, the company will either way release a better, high quality phone that consumers will definitely be looking forward to.
