Win Before Season

On March 8, 2011, the golf team traveled to Yolo Flyers in Woodland. They played Woodland for their last preseason match of the season. They have one won match and lost one. Hopefully they will win so they can carry there momentum into there season.

Dixon will be taking Garrett Rasmussen, Logan Mitchell, Garret Beal, Darren Freitas, Cody Riede and Seth Clay. The team seams to be getting along great. Even though Golf is an individual high school sport, you can not compete unless you have a team.

The number one on woodland shot a 34 which is 2 under par for that course. All of Dixon’s players struggled in some way accept for Cody Reide who shot a 44. Dixon’s number one also shot a 44, which is not an impressive score for a number one. Beal, and Clay had the most trouble scoring well. Freitas shot a 48, which is an okay score, since he just got new irons.

It was all tied up with the top four player scores counted. When the last scores came in, Dixon would win by a measly 2 strokes. Only winning by a small margin will hopefully motivate the team to keep there scores low and to focus in league. There first league match is on Thursday the 10^th. They will play Mesa Verde.
