Officially a Distinguished School!

If you have not heard yet, The California Department of Education (CDE) has announced that Dixon High School is a 2011 California Distinguished School. This is a great honor for our school because it makes people realize that our small town is a lot smarter than people in California think.

Our school was recognized for two practices and one other outstanding program here at Dixon High School. They are our Small Learning Communties and our Reading Apprenticeship model. The other program was the fact that we have three career-based academies.

Our principal, Mr. Ivan Chaidez, and our superintendent of Dixon Unified School District, Mr. Roger Halberg, are very proud of the fact that we have been honored with this award. They are very proud of everyone who has participated in making this happen.

Congratulations 2011 California Distinguished School, Dixon High School!
