Are the San Francisco Giants in Trouble?
For all you Giants fans it has been a rough month and a half. I don’t think anyone can argue that this has been indeed the low part of the season. Let’s face it: the Giants have only won 6 games out of the last 22. The giants have faltered. Just like manager Bruce Bochy said, “This team has last their mojo.” What happened to the San Francisco Giants?
The Giants, as manager Bruce Bochy said, have to go find that swagger and confidence that made them the 2010 World Series Champions.
Many people believe that the player movement in and out of the Giants clubhouse might have affected this team’s unity or chemistry. I would disagree because last year the Giants were made of players they acquired, and a majority of those players gave the team the success they ended up having. So to tell me that the Giants have lost chemistry is ridiculous. This team did not lose there chemistry in the last month. They lost something much more important: their “mojo”.
Good news Giants fans, this is nothing that can’t be fixed. This team has plenty of charismatic guys that can really build up this team’s “chemistry” and bring them back to the world champion swagger.
However, let’s not make this, “Well all we need to do is just get our act together and we will be champions again.” Unfortunately, the next five weeks will be just as hard as the last five. This is what sports fans like to call the playoff race. And anyone that is within reaching distance are scratching and clawing
and doing everything they can to get into the playoffs. This is when baseball goes from summer to fall. The leaves on the trees turn, and the eyes of baseball turn to gold. They want the grand prize, the most elite championship they could ever get: winning the World Series.
So Giants fans let’s see what this team is really made of because September and October is when it counts. As a Giants fan I’m okay with a bad August or May. It’s when the prize is in sight that you want to see the Giants bring back that swagger.
So let’s not give up on these Giants because they still have plenty of time. Let’s show what true fans we are and continue to fight through the bad, to only look forward to the good. The time is here and now, and the Giants, I assure you, will be ready to defend their World Series title.
