Reno rib fest

Starting Wednesday, August 31st, the Best in The West: Nugget Rib Cook-Off will take place in Sparks, Nevada in Victorian Square right along the Nugget Hotel. This event is made for the public and is admission free. Only the food and other items will need to be paid for. During this ribfest, 24 different companies will be making ribs, including the companies Aussom Aussies from Pennsylvania, Bone Daddy’s Barbecue from Michigan, and Kinders Custom Meats Inc. from California. All of the rib companies will be open and serving delicous smoked ribs and other less signifigant items from 11 am to 9 pm, except for on Monday when the companies wil be open from 11 am to 5 pm. At the ribfest, there will also be other vendors sering items like french fries, deep fried vegetables and dessert items, like chocolate covered fruit. For entertainment, there will be several musical talents such as the funk and soul band The Family Stone, the tribute band Dead Man’s Party, and the infamous rock band The Blue Oyster Cult.
