Athlete of the Week: Anthony McDermott
This week’s Athlete of the Week for September 30th to October 7th is Anthony McDermott. McDermott is a Senior Varsity cross country runner for DHS and has ran cross country since the seventh grade. He is one of the strongest runners in DHS and shows great potential at every meet he runs in. Placing fairly high in the major cross country meets make McDermott a great addition to the team. We asked McDermott a few questions so we can learn a little more about our Athlete of the Week.
When is your birthday?
McDermott’s Response: I was born April 3rd, 1994 in Vallejo.
What is the best about being on the team?
McDermott’s Response: I enjoy being able to compete against my team and competing with them.
What are your goals this season for Cross Country?
McDermott’s Response: I would like to take the team to State and also get a 16:15 on the State course.
Here are some of McDermott’s favorites so we can get to know the non-athletic side of our Athlete of the Week.
Favorite place to eat: The Habit in Davis
Favorite TV show: How I Met Your Mother
Favorite singer/band: A Day to Remember
Favorite professional team: San Francisco 49ers
