Lady Rams Senior Night volleyball game

Dixon had a home volleyball game against West Campus on Wednesday October 19.  This match was very important to Dixon.  Not only was this the breast cancer awareness game, it was also the Lady Ram’s Senior Night.  Their Senior Night was originally supposed to take play on October 31st, but the team was worried about the amount of people that would come to support them because that is Halloween.

The gym was decorated in all pink with posters and pictures hanging up.  Before the game started,  each of the seniors were announced.  There are five seniors that are currently on the team; Katie, Tori, Alyssa,  Maggie, and Zayra.  The seniors each had a speach given to them by the non-seniors on the team. This was somewhat emotional for the players.

The girls were all realizing that this would be, for the most part, their last year playing, and it is coming to an end.  The girls on the team will all stop playing on the same volleyball team once the season ends this year.

They started the game right after they were done with the senior announcements.  The first game was very slow.  They were not communicating and were not on their toes, being prepared for anything that would come their way.  There were a lot of balls hit into the net when the girls were getting set.  They were having a hard time getting into this game and let the other team get too much of a lead against them.  This game ended pretty quick and not in Dixon’s favor.  The final score was 25 to 13 for West Campus.

Dixon came into this game with the energy they were missing in the first game.  West Campus was not going to be able to get an easy win from the Lady Rams this time.  Dixon was talking on the court and playing well as a team.  Each time West Campus would make a strong hit over to Dixon, they were able to make perfect passes and hit it right back at West Campus.  This was a very close game: each team was unable to get a lead over the other team.  The final score of this game was 23 to 25 for West Campus.

The third game was very exciting.  The Lady Rams knew that this could end the match with a loss if they did not win this game.  They came back strong and ready to win.  Dixon was playing perfect and did not let up at all.  They were able to stay neck and neck with the other team.  Both teams were anxious to win and were playing great, but one team was going to play better in this game.  Each person on the Lady Rams was doing exactly what they needed to in order for them to win.  The final score of this game was 30 to 28 in favor of Dixon.

They went into the fourth game nervous and ready to play just like they had the game before.  Dixon was doing very well and remained positive throughout most of this game.  They were unable to hold a lead and let up to West Campus.  This game ended with another loss for Dixon.

The final score for this match was 3 to 1: West Campus.  The Lady Rams were disappointed that they had lost on their senior night, but it was a very exciting match.
