The iPhone 4s
After slightly more than a year after the the release of the iPhone 4 it’s successor finally hit stores. The iPhone 4S, released on October 14 in North America, and on October 28 for the rest of the world, has been a big success so far. Unlike the iPhone 4, which sold out in a matter of days, Apple came well prepared for the demand of iPhone 4S. The supply of iPhone 4s’ is nearly four times the amount of when the iPhone 4 was released. This has led to much more successful distribution of the device so far.
The iPhone 4S has a whole slew of new features that are included within it. One of these features is the incredible Siri. Siri is a digital assistant exclusive to the iPhone 4S. The logo for this application is a silver microphone. This is extremely suitable for the app, because Siri is a digital helper with lots of “brains”. To use Siri, you simply talk into the phone as if you are talking to a person. Apple’s website uses examples such as “Do I need an umbrella?”, “Any great burgers around here?”, and “Where’s the closest ATM?”. Siri uses your apps to find the best answer to your question. Asking about an umbrella would give you a weather report. Asking about burgers would give you food reviews. And asking about an ATM would open the GPS. Siri also has a personality. Some websites are dedicated to funny things that Siri says. “Siri, what are you wearing?” will result in the reply “Aluminosilicate and stainless steel. Nice, huh?” Telling Siri to schedule a meeting for yesterday will make her crack a joke at you.

There are also some other remarkable features about the new iPhone, like iOS 5. iOS 5 is the newest operating system for iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads. This operating system has taken on a point of view that was not yet been supported by Apple until now. The company is becoming more flexible with its designs, whereas in the past the company has been very concrete and black on white. A few examples of this flexibility can be seen right away in the new software update for the Apple products. One example is the new notification center: instead of notifications appearing as numbers to count the amount of notifications on each application or program, they now appear in the notification center. The notification center can be accessed by dragging your finger down from the very top of the screen. The center looks like a list of all notifications, featuring a small weather report and mini calendar. The calendar also has a list of reminders that the customer set by using Siri if they would like to.
The phone also has some incredible features like iCloud, Apple’s service that allows the user to store their data wirelessly, which in turn syncs all of your devices wirelessly. iMessage is another great feature, allowing the user to send unlimited text messages to other iPods, iPhones, and iPads.
This incredible new device has also improved some physical upgrades. The duel core- A5 processor surely won’t falter soon, and the sew camera is sure to impress. All in all, feel free to pick up one of these awesome new phones starting at $199.
