This was the debut for the New Head Coach Sam Harrison. Sam seemed to really have the ears of all his players, because it is clear that his word is the “law” on the basketball court. That was very clear to all players, which was a key factor in the Rams dominant victory.
The Rams didn’t waste anytime in the first quarter going off to an early lead, based off of numerous steals, and fast break points. The Rams really set the tempo in the first quarter dominating the Falcons, forcing them to submit to the Rams full court press, which caused a lot of Falcons turnovers, and a lot of fast break points for the Rams. The Rams ended the quarter leading 29-13.
The Rams however didn’t slow down in the second quarter. The Rams continued to dominate the Falcons on defense: the Falcons just couldn’t escape the dominant pressure from the Rams. The Rams would tack on 29 more points to end the first half to give them a dominating 58-26 lead.
The Falcons really looked tired coming out of the locker room after halftime, but the Rams looked just as strong as they did in the first half, being the much more well conditioned team. The Rams continued to pound on the Falcons, but because of the dominant score, Coach Harrison began to start playing all players, even playing players from the bench. The Rams kept dominated the Falcons, getting 24 more points in the third quarter compared to the Falcons 8, extending their lead in the third quarter to 82 to 34.

In the fourth quarter because of CIF, there would be a running clock, pretty much giving the Rams the for sure win over the Falcons. The Rams seemed to be very proud of the way they played against the quality team of Vacaville Christian and finished off their win with the score of 86 to 38.
The Rams in the history of playing the Falcons have never had a 40 point plus victory, really proving how dominant the Rams could be against good teams. The Vacaville Christian Cougars are in reality a pretty good team, but the Rams with their highly talented and fast team, made them look as if they were no match for the Rams.
The Rams had a lot of outstanding performances from many players. The Rams got a great game from senior guard Jeffrey Miner who got 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. They also got a great performance from junior guard Jake Moraes, who got 13 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. The Rams point guard Michael Tomelosso also had a good game scoring 9 points and getting 3 assists. The Rams also had success from their two starting forwards, Cory Sorenson and Alfonso Hernandez, Cory getting 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 assists, and Alfonso leading the Rams with 10 rebounds, and also got 4 assists and 6 points. The Rams’ dominant defense got them 31 steals, which helped them get the total of 86 points in the game.
The Rams have a long season in front of them, but if they keep up this type of dominant play, the Rams have a lot of great success coming their way.
