Obama going overboard with Czar choices
There seems to be very few things growing in our world except for executive branch Czars, which are expanding faster than the rate of the universe. Barack Obama has become the largest employer of executive branch czars. 85% of Obama’s major ’08 fundraisers landed a job in the executive branch. A czar in America is an executive branch post on federal payroll with unspecified powers. These people don’t have to make reports, and they are not subjected to background checks by the FBI. These unconstitutional posts have found their place in the heart of American politics, and many believe they are dangerous. It is said that a man is judged by the company he keeps. It is interesting to note that the President has surrounded himself by czars that are open about having a record of being radical.
An example of the ugliness, corruption and lack of patriotism shown by this administration is the former clean energy czar Anthony K. “Van” Jones. This article will highlight this particular person to show what he has done in his political career.
Jones was accepted to Yale Law School, attending class multiple times in military boots and a Black Panther uniform. He later went on to say that “the only reason I’m staying in school is because doing so will give me credibility.”
Jones’ first political activities included being arrested for the Rodney King Riots. There riots caused close to one billion dollars in damages to the city of Los Angeles. While in jail, he said to police, “These people were communists, Marxists and anti-capitalists, and I need to join them.”
The following August, he admitted to the police, “I am a communist.” He joined a radical group called STORM, which championed radical policies and communist leaders. Jones supported criminals convicted of killing cops in San Francisco, citing his belief that cops were out to kill black men.
In 1999, Jones was arrested for protesting the World Trade Organization agreement, and cited for violence. Jones served three years in prison. Coming out of jail, he became a green economy advocate.
When asked by Hip Hop Magazine whether he is still a radical or not, he replied “yes, but I have changed my methods and have become a more effective leader.”
This leader is now one of President Obama’s Chief Advisors. We had, in the White House, a communist creating jobs. What does that meant to the size of government? What does that mean of those that hired him? There is no way to find out what they do, or how much power they have. The White House has even gone to the limit of calling news anchors in the middle of commercial breaks, warning against calling these people czars.
There is no hiding that these people are not everyday Americans. The scary thing? They are now some of the President’s chief advisors.
