Inouye and the number 11

Whether or not you’ve had him or not, everyone at Dixon High knows that Mr. Inouye’s favorite number is 11. Hidden in random parts of his classroom, or even out in the open, are number 11 references. If you didn’t know before, take one step into in his classroom, and you’ll immediately realize; from the large poster his students made for him with the number 11 on it to his clock that only has the number 11 around it. His obsession with the number 11 started when he was younger.

When he was the age of 9, his favorite number was 9. When he was 10, his favorite number was 10. When he was 11, his favorite number 11. When he was of 12, he figured he was too old for that. So, it stayed at 11. This is not the only reason for his fixation.

Inouye was really into sports when he was younger, and he was also a small guy. The jerseys for his teams were also always by size, so he would always receive the same number. This was the number eleven. This continued for many years, even in college.

Inouye has found a way to incorporate this in his class room, and his class lessons. In each test you are guaranteed to find a number 11 reference. The number 11 has greatly influenced Inouyes life since he was in his early teens. Now, whenever students that have had him in the past see the number 11, they will always think of their math teacher in High School, Mr. Inouye.
