A&D Film Festival
The Arts and Design academy hosted a film festival for the other two academies, which are the PSA and AGI. The PSA academy went in on January the 11th to watch the fifteen films. Then AGI went the following day on the 12th to watch these great documentary films about the DHS staff. Both acadmies enjoyed them. There was one film done on the dance teacher and owner of Dixon Dance Studio. All the other people that where filmed are from the DHS staff. You had Mrs. Parker, the art teacher; Mrs. Ehrman, one of the science teachers; Mrs. Cordier, one of the math teachers; Mr. Winslow, the special-ed teacher; Mr. Reed, one of the other math teachers; Mr. Rodrigez, one of the PSA teachers and history teacher; Mrs. Ramsey, one of the english teachers; Mrs. Sela, another science teacher; Mrs. Townswick, the fashion and foods teacher; Mrs. Lobo, one of the spanish teachers; Mrs. Holmes, the speech teacher; Mrs. Beene, the dance teacher; and lastly Mr.Girimonte, the vice principal. They all were great films. In the films, they taught the students things that they really didnt know about their teachers. The films will be presented to all the staff on January 30th at the staff meeting. Out of all the films. in my personal opinion, I believe that Mrs. Beene, the dance teacher, was the best. It was well edited and had all that you would ask for in a short documentary film. Each film lasted about five to ten minutes and showed their life in and out of school. You find some interesting things out about people that you would never have thought to be possible. Most of the students enjoyed making the videos and finding new things out. Personally, I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to be a part of the project because I’m in the A&D academy. Everything came out great and nothing went too bad during the whole process. The Film Festival was a fun success, and it was a look into people’s personal lives and short filmmaking. All in all, everyone that had seen the films are glad to find something new out about the staff at DHS.
