Lady Rams overwhelm Marysville
On Wednesday, February 1, 2012, Dixon’s Lady Rams basketball team had a home game against Marysville. This game was full of energy from the home team, and they came out ready to play aggressive from the very beginning of the game.
The Lady Rams were able to get a big lead from the start of the game and held onto it the entire game. They put up 17 points the first quarter. Marysville was only able to score 7 points, this left the Lady Rams ahead 17- 7. They were playing very smart and kept the game going at a fast pace.
They went into the second quarter with the same amount of energy as they had in the first. They were taking smart shots, and making many of the ones they took. Most of the girls were making their three pointers, quite a difference compared to how Marysville was playing. Dixon made 21 points this quarter and Marysville made just 8 points. The final score in this quarter was 38- 15.
The next quarter was a little closer in the amount of points scored by both sides. The Lady Rams were not scoring as much as they had in the previous quarters, and their defense let up a little bit. Marysville was able to score 15 points, while Dixon only scored 13 points. Each team played about the same this quarter. The final score at the end of this quarter was 51- 30, to Dixon’s advantage. Dixon still had a very high lead against Marysville.
The final quarter went the same for Dixon. They were still making many of their shots. They kept the game moving quickly, and weren’t getting lazy on their defense. Dixon put up 18 points, while Marysville only had 7 points. This left the final score being 69- 37.
The whole team played really well together throughout the game. They had all been making their shots and playing really good defense. The game was full of energy and exciting to watch.
Three of the standout players in this game were Madison Dwelley, Samantha DelMugnaio, and Miranda Williams. Madison had 19 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Samantha had 15 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Miranda had 7 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals.
The Lady Rams have been doing very well in their season so far and it has been very exciting to watch them play. Hopefully Dixon will be able to continue to play well and win, so they can make it to playoffs this year!
