Lady Rams destroy Lindhurst Blazers 79 to 14
The Lady Rams were quite dominant for their 6th win in league as they took down the Lindhurst Blazers 79 to 14. The Rams are now 6-2 in league and 17-8 overall. They proved that they are a great scoring team, being able to pull off such an overwhelming victory over the last place Blazers. The Rams are struggling to find a spot in the playoffs, but with this win they really look like a team that can go into the playoffs strong.
The Rams came out in this game ridiculously strong on offense, absolutely devastating the Blazers defense. The Rams ran their offense so efficiently with great screens and good passes that the Blazers were no match for the mighty Rams. The Rams would tie the game at 2-2 and would take over from their going on 23 to 4 run to end the quarter and finish the quarter up 25-6.
The Rams came out in the second quarter on a defensive rampage, forcing turnover after turnover against the Blazers. The Blazers really were just no match for the much quicker and stronger Rams team. The Rams, despite the strong defense, didn’t counter on as many shots. The Rams shot 5 for 14 in the quarter from the field and just couldn’t stretch out that lead as much as they might have hoped to. On the other hand, they did open the lead enough to decimate the Blazers, 41 to 11 at half.
The Rams caused many turnovers in the first half and made sure the Blazers had no shot to get back in the game. If that wasn’t enough, the Rams would do much more to finish off the Blazers as they would hold the Blazers scoreless for the third quarter. The Rams would go on a 25-0 run in the third quarter to open the already amazing lead to 55 points by the end of the quarter. The Rams absolutely laid their will on the Blazers with their unbelievable defense and flawless offensive attack in the quarter. The Rams would shoot 11 for 14 in the quarter from the field and would really run away with this game after this run, winning 66 to 11.
Now that the Rams had a forty plus lead, the rules enforce the clock to run for the entire quarter. The Rams, despite the running clock, would add 10 more points to their lead and would finish off the Blazers 79 to 14.
The Rams got an outstanding performance out of junior forward Miranda Williams, who scored 26 points, 22 rebounds, and four steals.The Rams were an absolute dominant force in this game and were untouchable. The Rams accumulated 27 steals in this one which turned into countless fast break and second chance points. The Rams would shoot the ball so well in this game as they shot 29 for 50 for the game and scored a season high of 79 points. The Rams were so quick and fast in this game, the Blazers never realized what hit them.
The Rams will find out this Monday where they will fall in the CIF rankings for the playoffs. For now, they will just have to sit and wait and keep winning. The Rams are a highly talented team, and when they put the pieces together, they are truly a very good team. This team needs to start believing in themselves because they are clearly capable of dominating anyone as long as they believe.
The Rams have two more tough games left in league, and they need to win both of them to give the Lady Rams a chance to get a reasonable playoff game. The Rams need to sharpen up for the last week of the regular season because right after that it’s post season time.
