Lady Rams take another win

On Tuesday, February 7, Dixon’s Lady Rams had a home game against Capital Christian.  Dixon played very well in this game and was ready to get another win.  They came into the game with a lot of energy from the start of the game which lasted until the very end.

The first quarter started off very quickly.  Dixon was moving at a very fast pace and was getting down the court quickly to stop Capital Christians defense.  Dixon was taking really good shots and making most of  them.  Capital Christian was not able to get passed Dixon’s defense and score more points.  Capital Christian was only able to score 12 points, but Dixon scored 20 points.  That made the final score of that quarter to be 20-12; Dixon.

The second quarter was low scoring for both Dixon and Capital Christian.  Capital Christian were both playing really tight defense, which prevented each other from scoring many points.  Dixon only scored 5 points and Capital Christian scored 4 points.  The score at the end of this quarter was 25- 16; Dixon.

Dixon went into the third quarter very different than they had played in the first half.  Their defense let up which allowed Capital Christian to score many points this quarter.  Dixon was not able to get a lot of shots to fall, so they did not score as much as they needed to.  Capital Christian scored 23 points this quarter and Dixon scored 14 points.  The final score in this quarter was 39- 39; tie.

The fourth quarter was very important for both teams.  Each team was trying to stop the other team from scoring as much as possible, but this made it difficult for one to get ahead of the other.  Dixon and Capital Christian were each playing great defense, but Dixon was able to get past Capital Christian.  Dixon scored 17 points, while Capital Christian was only able to score 10 points.  This made the final score of the game 56- 49; Dixon.

This game was very quick and exciting to watch.  Dixon’s top players from this game were Rebeca Immel with 16 points, and Madison Dwelley with 19 points.

Dixon has been doing very well this season and it has been great to watch them play this year.  With the season coming to an end very soon, they are hoping to continue to win and end on a good note.
