Zombie attack?

On the morning of Saturday, May 26^th, 2012, 31 year old Rudy Eugene left his and his girlfriend’s house in Miami, Florida. Later that day, there were reports of a 65 year old homeless man named Ronald Poppo being attacked by a nude assailant. This naked man was Rudy Eugene. Eugene was gnawing at Poppo’s face, and was shot multiple times by police before dying. Poppo, who had been homeless for 30 year, was literally getting his face ripped to shreds. Eugene used nothing but his mouth to do so. Both men were naked during the attack.  The victim is now in hospital, fighting for his life, with the majority of his face (75%) gone.

The strangest thing about this attack is that even after being shot, Eugene refused to stop chewing the victim’s face. He had been warned to stop, but he only turned around and grunted. He appeared unfazed by the first bullet, maybe even unable to feel pain. Police shot him two times, the second shot killing him.

This has been referred to as a ‘zombie attack’, although it has been said that Eugene was under the influence of a synthetic drug called bath salts. Plus, zombies aren’t real, whereas this is an actual event. News, even.

Eugene’s girlfriend was shocked to find out that this happened, but had expected something strange was going on when he left the house very early in the morning to meet with an unnamed ‘homeboy.’ Marijuana was reportedly the only drug used by Eugene, but at the time of the attack, the man appeared to be on an LSD-like substance.

Is this the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, or a tragic incident that has already devastated many? I mean, it could be both. That’s kind of an option.
